Turkish Airlines, awarded best airline in Europe 2012, is set to begin scheduled services to Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) from December 4, 2012. Promotional airline tickets starting from 299 EURO for an all inclusive round ticket from Istanbul (and great rates for return tickets from major airports) mark this special launch.
Turkish Airlines will operate five times a week with a B737-900 series aircraft on the Istanbul Ataturk – Kilimanjaro – Mombasa route. Flight TK673 to Kilimanjaro is scheduled to land on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday at 01:55 and departs at 02:55.
The landing of the airline will help connect Tanzania and other neighbouring countries to markets in the US, Canada and Europe through the Turkish Airlines network Star Alliance, one of the largest in the world.
Turkish Airlines joins other global airlines that include Qatar Airways, KLM, Edelweiss Air, Condor and Ethiopian Airlines to fly to the northern airport that literally drops tourists in the middle of Kilimanjaro, Arusha, Tarangire, Manyara, Ngorongoro and Serengeti safari parks.
Kilimanjaro International Airport (airportcode JRO) lies on 50 km from the centre of Arusha and only 30-40 minutes from Onsea House and Machweo, which makes it an ideal base for arrival or for a dayroom and great night under the stars with splendid dinner before departure.
